Terms of Use
Last updated: January 2026
1. Acceptance
By installing or using the DevContext browser extension (“the extension”), you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not install or use it.
2. What the extension does
DevContext saves your conversations from supported AI platforms into your browser's local storage so you can search, read, tag, and export them. It runs entirely on your device and makes no network requests.
3. Your responsibility
- You are responsible for the content you generate on AI platforms and for what gets saved locally.
- Data is stored in plain text. Do not paste secrets (API keys, passwords, tokens) into conversations you save.
- You are responsible for complying with the terms of service of each AI platform you use. DevContext is an independent tool and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by any of them.
4. No warranty
The extension is provided “as is”, without warranty of any kind, express or implied. AI platforms change their interfaces frequently; capture may occasionally miss messages or stop working until updated. We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation, or that no data will ever be lost.
5. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the authors are not liable for any loss of data, loss of profits, or any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from the use of, or inability to use, the extension. You are responsible for maintaining your own backups (use the Export feature).
6. Data & privacy
All data is stored locally and never transmitted. See the Privacy Policy for details.
7. Changes to the extension
Features may be added, changed, or removed in future versions. Material changes will be noted in the extension's update notes.
8. Trademarks
ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Copilot, Perplexity, DeepSeek, Grok, Poe, and Mistral are trademarks of their respective owners. They are referenced only to indicate compatibility.
